A new international survey has placed China ahead of the United States in favorability rankings across Africa, marking a significant shift in global perceptions.
The Morning Consult survey, conducted across 41 nations, shows that China now enjoys a higher net favorability score than the U.S., a milestone in global perception tracking.
This surge in admiration is attributed to decades of strategic diplomacy, infrastructure investments, and cultural engagement.
China’s presence in Africa is highly visible, with contributions in energy, transportation, and industrial development. From hydropower stations to modern roads and railways, Beijing’s investments have directly impacted daily life.
Unlike Western aid models, China’s partnership approach is non-interventionist, allowing African nations to pursue development on their own terms. This mutual respect has strengthened China’s reputation as a reliable ally.
Beyond infrastructure, China’s soft power has grown through entertainment, fashion, and technology. Chinese apps, AI innovations, and green energy solutions are increasingly shaping global industries.
China has positioned itself as a key player in global peace efforts, leading coalitions like BRICS and advancing cooperation through the Belt and Road Initiative. These moves reinforce its image as a stabilizing force focused on shared growth and inclusion.
